Rules of the Road
- Deposit
- A refundable security deposit is taken at pickup — ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 depending on the bike — and returned with the keys, less any damage or extra kilometres.
- Licence
- Bring your original driving licence and a physical photo ID (Aadhaar or passport). Only the rider named on the agreement may ride.
- Kilometres
- Unlimited kilometres on every bike except the Classic 500, which includes 250 km a day; extra kilometres are charged per km at return.

The yard is in Vashisht, on the quiet bank of the Beas above the hot springs. The Leh road is five minutes away, and the ride out skips Manali's Mall Road entirely.
Vashisht sits on the left bank of the Beas, across the river from Manali and a kilometre above it, around the old stone temple and its hot springs. It is quieter than Old Manali and closer to the road that matters: the yard is five minutes from the Leh highway, and the ride out never touches Mall Road. From here the Atal Tunnel is 30 km, Rohtang 50 km with a permit booked online the day before, and Tandi, where the Chandra meets the Bhaga, is the last petrol for 365 km on the way to Leh. Riders back from a long loop wash the dust off in the temple springs, which are free and open until late.

When to come
Mid-June to early October is the prime riding season when high-altitude passes like Rohtang, Kunzum, and Ladakh routes are fully open. September is the absolute sweet spot with clear skies and minimal water crossings. November to May is off-season as high-altitude passes remain blocked by heavy winter snow.

Why adventure bikes only
Nitro rents one kind of motorcycle from a yard on the quiet bank of the Beas: the kind that is happy on a broken road. We sold the cruisers in 2021 and kept the bikes our own riders chose for Spiti. Each one leaves with crash guards, a tank bag, a tubeless puncture kit and a spare clutch cable, and comes back to the mechanic who set it up.
